Nick Foles Fired After Insulting Tom Brady’s Daughter

Feb 04, 2018

Nick Foles was fired from the Philadelphia Eagles today after calling Tom Brady’s young daughter, Vivian, an “annoying little pissant” during an on-air discussion.

“We are disappointed and embarrassed by Nick Foles’ on-air comments,” a statement from the Eagles organization read. “His remarks were utterly indefensible, and mean-spirited commentary directed in any way at children is wholly inappropriate. Mr. Foles remains suspended indefinitely from the Eagles organization.”

This adds a twist going into Super Bowl LII today.  With Carson Wentz out from injury, third-string quarterback Nate Sudfeld will start in Foles’ place.

The players have responded with outbursts of anger.  In protest, the entire Eagles starting and backup lineup plan to take a kneel during the national anthem, breaking their perfect non-kneeling record this season.

In response to plans of the kneeling, Tom Brady has decided to wear a "Make America Great Again" sticker on his helmet.

And just like that this year's Super Bowl has exploded back into politics, which many fans have grown weary of.

"I'm sick of the world's problems played out as theatre on the gridiron," said superfan Fred Diddley, who we interviewed at a tailgate before the game.  "I hope we as a nation can heal from Foles' past insults, shift away from politics, and go back to what really matters, like will Justin Timberlake do another wardrobe malfunction during the halftime show today?  That was awesome."
